Alexa Martinez

Hello everyone! I’m Alexa Martinez, I’m a senior this year in graphic design at Macon High.

Favorite Essential Element: My favorite essential element is integrity. To have integrity you have to have consistent beliefs and be able to act on them. I didn’t choose this because I’m amazing at it, I think without it you wouldn’t be able to uphold any responsibilities you gain throughout life.

My future looks like: My plan includes going to art school. I’m thinking of majoring in sequential design or animation. I hope to learn a lot and improve my grades and art before going off to college so I’m prepared to apply new knowledge.

Something unique about me: I’m a bit of a nerd when it comes to things I enjoy, such as crafts, games, and shows/comics. I love competing in sports, and I want to get more into fitness. Since I grew up in St.Louis I’m a big foodie, although I’m a little picky. I also have a big puppy named Maya.

Advice to Members: Advice I would give… I feel like I’ve matured so much because of SkillsUSA and I don’t think I would feel as ready to have a job without participating in it. It’s a lot of hard work but expanding your knowledge, meeting people, pushing your comforts, and seeing things you prepared come to fruition fills you with a feeling of accomplishment that I can’t fully explain.
